Sometimes God Keeps Us Still

For the third morning in a row, I opened the front door hoping the air quality had improved enough to take my son outside. Instead, I was greeted by another hazy sky. He stood there, full of energy, asking if we could go play, and I had to tell him, "Not yet, buddy."
If you're a toddler mom, you know that being stuck inside for days is no joke. We built forts, watched movies, made messes, cleaned them up...and repeated the cycle all over again.
But somewhere in the middle of all that, God slowed me down.
With everything going on in the world....wildfires, uncertainty, people hurting everywhere....it's easy to let your heart become heavy. It's easy to focus on everything that's wrong.
I've done that for years.
I've walked through addiction. I've survived abuse. I've questioned my worth because someone else convinced me I didn't have any. I've lived in fear. I've carried shame. I've tried to control situations that were never mine to control.
But God has been changing me.
Lately, He's been reminding me that healing isn't pretending the hard things never happened. Healing is choosing to keep walking anyway. It's choosing faith when fear feels easier. It's choosing peace when anger would be justified. It's choosing to trust that His plan is better than anything I could force on my own.
I'm learning to notice the little things now.
The sound of my son laughing in the next room. My daughter's strength and the woman she's becoming. A hot cup of coffee before the house wakes up. A clean home after a busy day. The quiet moments where God whispers, "I've got you."
I can't stop the wildfires. I can't fix every broken thing in this world. But I can pray. I can love people well. I can keep showing up each day and trust that God is directing my steps.
And speaking of steps...
One of the reasons I'm excited to partner with Leviticus Fashions is because they're about so much more than making beautiful boots. They believe what you stand for matters. Every step we take is an opportunity to walk with purpose.

Even more meaningful, they support The Justice Project, helping provide hope and resources to survivors of human trafficking. In a world that can feel so heavy, I love supporting a company that's actively choosing to bring light into someone else's darkness.
That's the kind of mission I want to stand behind.
So I'll keep praying. I'll keep trusting. I'll keep following wherever God leads me.
And yes...I'll probably be doing it in my favorite pair of Leviticus boots.
Because every journey of faith begins with one step.
