God's Plan

Monday morning, just when I thought I had my week planned out, I’m pretty sure God had a good laugh.

Work? Nonstop.

Cleaning jobs? Yep.

Creating videos and trying to build a few other business avenues? Throw that in there too.

Kids, dinner, laundry, keeping a three-year-old alive and entertained, and maybe finding five minutes somewhere in there to sit down and remember what my own name is?

And somehow…it’s ONLY WEDNESDAY?!

Weeks like this can get overwhelming fast. When everything seems to need my attention at the exact same time, I catch myself wanting to complain about how busy I am.

And then that little voice comes into the back of my mind:

But five years ago, you prayed for these days.

Whew.

Because I did.

I prayed for stability. I prayed for a home where my children and I felt safe. I prayed to be present for my kids. I prayed for opportunities. I prayed for purpose. I prayed for a life that I didn't need to escape from.

And God gave me one.

That doesn't mean every week looks like this. There are plenty of slower weeks where I get to pour almost every ounce of myself into my kids. There are mornings when I can sit with my coffee, pray, and move a little slower.

And then there are weeks like this one....where I feel like I'm running from the second my feet hit the floor until I finally crawl into bed.

But even the chaos is a blessing when I remember what I once prayed for.

I think sometimes we get so caught up in asking God, “What’s next?” that we forget to look around and realize we're standing in the middle of something we once begged Him for.

And apparently I still haven't learned my lesson about making plans.

I make my little schedule. I decide exactly how my week is going to go. I organize everything perfectly in my head…and God reminds me that if my plans aren't aligned with His, they're probably getting rearranged.

So I'm learning to hold my plans a little looser and trust His a little more.

So this week, I'm tired. I'm busy. My schedule is slightly unhinged, and I'm pretty sure God is still laughing at the planner I made Monday morning.

But I'm grateful.

Because I remember the prayers.

And I'll take these beautifully chaotic, ridiculously packed, God-given days every single time.
